Russia has in recent years entered a new phase of economic transformation, relying on its natural resources, industrial capabilities and updated policy directions to create a balance between traditional sectors and technology-driven industries. The advancement of infrastructure projects, the expansion of core industrial sectors and the increase in production capacities have strengthened the country’s position within supply chains and paved the way for broader industrial development. As a result, Russia has experienced a notable rise in the consumption of metals.
In this context, issue No.31 of “Metals News” monthly magazine focuses on Russia. The first section of this issue examines the country’s recent economic evolution and the current configuration of its economic structure. The second section reviews the performance of major metal consuming industries and assesses the contribution each sector makes to the dynamics of the metal consumption market. The third section analyzes the path of development and investment in construction, infrastructure and strategic industrial projects, highlighting their respective impacts on metal demand. The final section provides an overview of broad market trends and outlines the role of different consuming industries in shaping the trajectory of Russia’s metal consumption landscape.
